BRAINWAVE: Towards Silence − by Sir John Tavener
World premiere of a site-specific composition be performed in the Museum´s spiral, the piece commands the forces of four quartets positioned in different parts of the Museum. Towards Silence - meditation on the four states of ATMA according to the Vedanta of Hinduism
-The waiting state (growth manifestation)
-The dream state
-Deep sleep in which ATMA is in union with Brahma
-That which is beyond
The performance of the new work will be preceded by readings from relevant sacred texts, read by noted performers. The performance will be led by the Medici String Quartet, headed by Paul Robertson, Visiting Professor in Music and Medicine to the Peninsula Medical School.
